When I heard that Seal was putting out a best of album, I went crazy, wondering what would be on it! I thought of Crazy, Kiss From A Rose, Prayer, Don't Cry, Waiting for You and others. Well, guess what, all the songs I've listed are on it! And the album's well balanced with the most popular songs first and possibly Seal's personal favorites later. I still love Killer! The album does a good job with having the album versions on here rather than edited versions. So Don't Cry still sounds dramatic in its 6 minutes than the edited version that cuts out 2 minutes of it for radio. I've not heard his third and fourth albums, but the selections from that album are quite good. And I still like his rocking remake of Steve Miller Band's Fly Like An Eagle! Some outraged Steve Miller fan would have cried "Foul, nobody should ever remake that song!" back in 1996. But Seal brought the funk to this song and producer Rashad Smith had some hot beats to give it a hip-hop edge! And it was a top 10 hit! It was one of the best songs from the Space Jam soundtrack. The other soundtrack songs and selections like his remake of an '80s song, Lips Like Sugar are just as solid. His songwriting is special, his talents so very gifted, and he's a very superb singer vocally. Seal brought the best of his 13 years in recorded music to this compilation.
