I purchased Brady Seals' self-titled CD after seeing his CMT video for the hit single on this album, "I Fell." Always being a [fan] for a good, romantic ballad, I fell (no pun intended) for this wonderful song. Being familar with Mr. Seals as he was a member of the band "Little Texas," I was anxious to hear this collection of songs. I was not disappointed and very pleased after my initial play of this CD. This album can be considered to belong to the progressive country-rock genre that so many popular country artists aspire to today. Mr. Seals wrote or co-wrote 7 of the 10 songs on this CD. No surprise as to his singing and song-writing abilities as he is related to '70's rock/pop stars (his built-in edge) Jim Seals of "Seals & Croft" and Dan Seals of "England Dan & John Ford Coley," who went on to carve a solo career in country music in the '80's. Mr. Seals has a great vocals on this CD... varying from a "Southern" accent to an "Ohio or Iowa" accent. His great vocal range/ability gives him cross-over appeal and the ability to sing a variety of songs such as country artists Mark Wills and Faith Hill. This CD has a nice mix of ballads ("I Fell," "All My Devotion," and "The Best Is Yet To Come") and some great up-beat tempo songs ("Country As A Boy Can Be," "Love You Too Much," and "Kickin' And Screamin'"). My two favorite songs in this collection, "I Fell" and "I Get High Lovin' You" were both written by Tommy Barnes. I certainly hope to see/hear future colaboration between these two. Mr. Seals said in an interview he had some misgivings about putting this song on the CD as it didn't entirely fit with the concept of the album. I am glad Mr. Seals stayed true to his intuition and included it. Great songs deserved to be heard and this one ends the CD on a great high energy, feel-good note. The tune is infectious and I find myself singing along with the guys doing the vocal backgrounds... a great stress-reliever on the drive home after a long work day! Mr. Seals is an under-rated and much over-looked talent in the country music scene today. After listening to this CD, I am sure you will feel the same way.
