Product Description
What started out as regional "hillbilly music" spread like wildfire nationwide - and worldwide - to become a multi-billion-dollar industry: Country music! Here are the greatest stars of country music's classic years in live performances of some of their greatest hits, from Tennessee Ernie Ford, Eddy Arnold, Chet Atkins and Johnny Cash in the '50s thru Buck Owens, Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton, and Dottie West in the '70s. Many of these live performances have remained largely unseen since they were first broadcast - in full color - on television nearly thirty years ago! As a special bonus, we've included exclusive interviews with country legends Eddy Arnold and Kenny Rogers! No fan of country music should be without this remarkable collection of country greats! Reader Reviews
This sure is an interesting cross-section of Country singers! I've seen some of the early footage before, like Johnny Cash and Eddy Arnold from the Fifties, but the color stuff from the Sixties and Seventies was really something, like Buck Owens, Kenny Rogers, and the Oak Ridge Boys. I'm glad somebody had the foresight to save some of those TV performaces!
