Steve Perry is best known as the frontman for Journey 1977-1998. In 1984 he released his first solo album Street Talk, that produced the hits Oh Sherrie and Foolish Heart. Then in 1988 after Journey disbanded, Perry started working on his follow up to the successful Street Talk album. His follow up to Street Talk was shelved and Perry did not release his second solo album until 1994. This collection gathers the hit singles from Street Talk and For the Love of Strange Medicine, and combines demos recorded in 1988, some soundtrack songs, and the demo If You Need Me Call Me, that got him his gig with Journey. While I prefer Street Talk over this collection. Steve Perry's Greatest Hits is still an essential purchase much of the material is very good. The Demo If You Need Me Call Me is great.
