Land of the Free?

This is pennywise?, December 1, 2001
That's the question I hear alot from people when they give their first listen. Yes it is Pennywise, and their return this year with "Land of the free?" is being hailed by some and criticized by others. Personally, I think this was a great return from Pennywise after being absent for some time, and their new anti-political attitude is actually quite enjoyable. Now don't get me wrong, this is the same group you learned to love on "About time", with intense guitar work, fast drumming and great lyrics. The real difference between this release and their earlier works rests in the lyrics, which are aimed at the United States Government, and the recent violet WTO riots. Everything seems to come together quite nicly as one fast paced, over the edge punk rock formula. Defintely worth it for Pennywise fans, and a great experience for newcomers.

>>>-----------------PENNYWISE------------------>, July 2, 2002
This album is pretty phat. My favorite song on this one is "My God". Other great songs are "Time marches on", "Land of the free", "The World", and "F**K Authority". Nice punk sound with a political edge. Go buy 50 copies!

Ive only heard one other pennywise cd and it seemed a lot like this one except not as good. This cd is very politically motivated and fun to listen to. Some of their songs seem to be highly repetitive such as enemy and my god. The best song on here in my opinion is the world. f**k authority, something wrong with me, and its up to you are really good too. A lot of what is on this cd is contemporary history and in a couple of decades will earn a couple of paragraphs in all our childrens history books making this a small peice of american history.

-Freedom (Free-dumb) Get it?, December 22, 2004
"Land of the Free?" is your typical hardcore Pennywise album. This means that A: It's fast. B: It's about the government and fate. C: It's going to be awesome. You either love Pennywise, or you don't. There's no in between. There's no "Ahh, they're okay..." You either get their CD, go see them live, and beat up some punk ass kids, or you get their CD, tape it back up, and give it to the friend that you hang with only because he has a car for a birthday present. I'm the one who goes and beats up fat teenagers. The ones that had their parents take them to the show, have on a Pennywise shirt, have a Pennywise wallet, and have a bag of Pennywise posters, patches and stickers. Pennywise has always been a favorite band of mine. From their self titled, to "Up from the Ashes". This album is a landmark for Pennywise, but I think every CD they release is a landmark in and of itself. "Unknown Road", "About Time", and "Full Cirlce" being the 3 I define as their classics. This album is a great album and should be considered by all punk fans and owned by any Pennywise fan.

Land of the free, May 17, 2004
Reviewer: A music fan Land of the free is more powerful than From the ashes(not that FTA don't rock, it rocks trust me!) for some reasons, it has a type a punch on this one that isn't on other PW albums, which make the mood of the album really louder and powerful!

Pennywise kills all!, January 25, 2004
A Kid's Review Pennywise is the best punk band. Its pretty simple, all of there songs kick ass and anyone who doesnt like them deserves to die. The guy way op in the first 20 review who gave away all his cd's cause he "lost his support for pennywise" he deserves to be brutally tortured, then die. If you like punk rock theres no reason not to buy this cd or any of pennywise' other cds.
