Reader Reviews Lee Roy Parnell deserves much more credit than he gets. Since his debut in 1992, Parnell's country-blues slide guitar has made him one of my favorite artists. The roadhouse rocker's mix of R&B on songs like "When a Woman Loves a Man" creates a very different sound than you usually get from a country artist, while the wild "If the House Is Rockin'," shows his blues-rock side, and "John the Revelator" is a nice gospel number. My personal favorites, though, are "Heart's Desire," and "On the Road." Parnell's guitar work can get dull when he tries too hard to be a country hit maker, because he is his best when he leans towards the blues. Check out his newest release, "Tell the Truth," which is an excellent blues album. All in all, this is a nice greatest hits package of a talented and underrated musician.
