This is a rare & magical recording. Ferry Corsten is incredible. This musical composition brings forth images of blue waters in sunshine & clouds with pink images of the blessed virgin. This is a piece that will take you away. Avoid the William Orbit version & buy this version along with the Samuel Barber original. A fiery spark.
Some people are really ignorant, and shouldn't be writing reviews like the guy from Israel. He's right, this is one of the best songs ever, but it's a trance song, remixed by the trance legend Ferry Corsten. Give this a spin and you won't regret it. Truly a classic.
I remember quite distinctly the first time I heard this song. I was sitting in my brothers volvo with some of his friends and I was simply blown away by this song. I was like thinking, who made this amazing song and where can I buy it. This has to be one of the best trance tracks ever made and it is a remix of Barbers adagio for strings. The intro is great and is a nice build up for the slow strings and then we get an amazing mix of electronica and the string section. I love the base line in the begining and the drum sound is also great. This is a great track to dance to and I feel myself moving in my seat even as I listen to right now. The sounds have been maticulously chosen and add a nice layer to an already great track. Then it slows done and we hear the strings and it is so serene and nice. Then we get an awesome mix of the strings and the electronic sounds. That can just be said to be tremendous and I think that Orbit has created a trance track for the ages. This is a one of a kind track. I love it so much.
It was a really good cd. But I am actually writing this review because i want to know which trance albums are the best. So if anyone can reply please do.

Excellent piece of work, May 1, 2000
Reviewer: A music fan Already an old track by now but still never too late to review. William Orbit is definitely an innovative and creative artist. His new album "Pieces...style" definitely is creative. Ferry Corsten, an up and coming superstar of trance/progressive house style has given a new dimension to the track, "Barber's ...strings." When I first heard the track in a club I was totally stunned by the melody and the pace of track. I think the melody is little dark or serious but I still like it a lot. When I found out the track is a remix by F Corsten I was amazed. What an awesome piece of work on the remix. Also not forgetting Andre (ATB) Tanneberger version which is pretty good. Definitely worth an applause however not as good as F Corsten version. This single definitely a must buy for all trance fans, F Corsten and ATB fans, and anyone who likes William Orbit's work.
in this single you can find the best house track that was ever made! the viberaitions are going throgh your body and giving you to fill like in heaven! TO the DJ's:have to have it!
