There is fire, and where there was Fire in 1974, it was listening to this monumental release. Split 50/50 with blistering rock funk and smooth soulful ballads (I think they did it that way so you could recover from listening to the white hot tracks, cooling off with the ballads). I mean the four tracks "Fire, Runnin From The Devil, Smoke, and What The Hell" WOW. That was the perfect mix of rock and funk if I ever heard it. The only ballad that really moved me was "I Want to be Free" although the others were certainly very good. I remember listening to "What the Hell" and thinking my stereo (along with my mother's head) was going to just explode. Powerful stuff here.
