In the middle '80s, there was a thing called hair-metal and in the midst of that movement with bands like Poison and Motley Crue and Cinderella and Warrant and blah-de-blah-blah Ozzy lost his f*cking mind and started to think that maybe he could get away with being a glam rocker too. The song on this disc all have that "Hey, I collaborated with some Hollywood song-mechanic hotshot sound" as if the likes of Desmond Child or some other song doctor had jumped in bed with Ozzy to create a new sound that wasn't Ozzy and wasn't very f*cking metal. This is Ozzy-lite! This is the disgrace of chick-minded-metal. This is a fad. Well, you can tell that it won't last long. The saving grace of The Ultimate Sin Tour '86 was that Ozzy recruited some underground metalheads to open for him by the name of Metallica, and they were supporting a little album at the time by the name of Master Of Puppets. What a great show & a fond farewell to Cliff Burton at the end of the tour. The Ultimate Sin, Shot In The Dark and probably Lightning Strikes are the listenable cuts, everything else just sounds like Dokken and I wasn't really into them. Bummer that Jake E. Lee's exit would be marred by suck mediocre work. Would have been interesting if Ozzy had stuck with the metal.
