Reader Reviews
This is Ozzy's last great studio album. The album is heavy and melodic. This may be Zakk Wylde's best guitar performance although his solos aren't quite as raw and agressive as No Rest For The Wicked they're every bit as good. Ozzy's vocals are great and he has a top notch band too. The writing is great and some songs were co written with Lemmy of Motorhead! 1.Mr. Tinkertrain- 10/10 A great song that starts off with scary intro music and children talking. This song is about a pedophile. The riff is excellent and Ozzy's vocals are great. The soft bridge works very well before Zakk Wylde explodes into an excellent solo with fast shredding and great blues influenced lines. A real classic song that is very underrated. 2.I Don't Want to Change the World- 8/10 This song has a great riff. Ozzy's vocals are good in this song and Zakk Wylde's solo is great and sounds like a faster version of a southern rock solo with a little metal thrown in. A good song but not one of the better songs on the album although the lyrics are very good. 3.Mama, I'm Coming Home- 10/10 This is the biggest hit on the album and one of the most popular power ballads ever. Zakk Wylde's acoustic guitar work is excellent and Ozzy's vocals are great. Zakk's solo is great and has a lot of feeling in it. Another classic song. 4.Desire- 10/10 A great song that starts off with a heavy as hell guitar part before some cool subtle power chords. The song has a great chorus and strong vocals from Ozzy. The lyrics are good too. The solo is one of Zakk Wylde's best ever as Zakk shreds away as fast as he ever has. This song also has a good hair metal appeal to it. 5.No More Tears- 10/10 One of Ozzy's best songs ever! The bass line is great and the keyboards work great. Zakk's soulful guitar work is excellent too. Ozzy's vocals are very good and Zakk's heavy riffing works great in this melodic song. The chorus and lyrics are great too. The rythym section sounds perfect on this song too. This song is actually about a serial killer and not a love song like you might think from the title. The piano and the talking in the backround during the bridge sound great. Zakk's solo is amazing as it starts out with slow soulful playing for breaking into some great blues licks and an awesome ending shredding line. Another classic 6.S.I.N.- 10/10 This is my favorite song on the album. Zakk's soulful intro solo is great and so is this the music he plays over in the intro. The song is fast and Ozzy's vocals are great. The chorus is one of Ozzy's best ever. The song is very melodic too but not soft. Zakk's solo is excellent again as it has some great bends and shredding lines. The lyrics are some of Ozzy's best and all the melodic riffs are brilliant. Zakk's outro solo is better than his first and it better bends and faster shredding. This sounds like Dokken. 7.Hellraiser- 10/10 Another classic song. This song has a great riff and excellent vocals. The lyrics are great too and the song has a good hair metal appeal to it once again. Zakk's solo is excellent again. The intro to the song is great too. Ozzy's vocals sound excellent too. This song stands the test of time. 8.Time After Time- 9/10 Power ballad number 2. This is a good ballad but not as memorable as Mama I'm Coming Home. Ozzy's vocals sound good and zakk Wylde's tone is huge. Zakk's solo is great though. Zakk always plays the perfect solos for power ballads. This solo has bluesy bends, a little bti of shredding but all of it is played with emotion. 9.Zombie Stomp- 10/10 A great opening bass line. The bassline lasts a bit too long. The riff is really though. The actually song with vocals , guitar and everything is very good although the bass intro lasts way too long. A cool chorus too. Another great solo by Zakk too. Zakk's vibrato is excellent and his bluesy lines work great in this song. A great sogn even if the bass intro lasts too long. 10.A.V.H.- 10/10 A cool southern intro. Kind of strange to hear that on an Ozzy album but it lasts only 20 seconds before going into a great power chord assault. The melodic chorus is great too. Ozzy's vocals sound great as always and Zakk's tone and riff are great. Another great guitar solo too. 11.Road to Nowhere- 10/10 Power ballad number 3. Zakk's emotional intro solo is great. Ozzy's vocals sound great. Zakk's guitar work on this song is excellent and the lyrics are good too. This is as good as Mama I'm Coming Home if not better. Zakk's guitar solo is excellent and has a lot of great shredding. A great way to close the album. This might be Ozzy's most melodic album and this could very well be Zakk's best guitar performance ever. Buy this if you don't already own this. There are a lot of power ballads but plenty of rockers too. Much different than the raw hair metal album "No rest for The Wicked". This album is more polished and melodic. Both albums are great as are all of the Ozzy albums up until this one. This is the last great ozzy album. Hopefully he'll make another great album. Ozzy Osbourne- Vocals Zakk Wylde- Guitar Randy Castillo- Drums Bob Daisley- Bass John Sinclair- Keyboards
