Like many others, I have been an Orbital fan for quite a long time now(ever since their brown album). Unlike many others, I find this albums closer to the earlier Orbital tracks than the post-Insides albums. Alltogether features 2 vocal pieces (I have the British import, so I don't have song 12). Both Funny Break and Illuminate are every well mixed. Funny Break sounds very typical Orbitals with female vocal humming. Illuminate features a male vocal sounding somewhat like Elton John (am I the only one who think this?) The rest of CD are instrumental tracks. Some songs like Tootled and Oi could be considered Hard techno, featuring fast and furious beats. Other songs features nice melodies and hooks. I find every song on this CD worth listening to. Compared to other Orbital CDs, I would say that Alltogether is less melodic than Insides but features faster beats and more rhythm. I suspect this is also the main reason why many reviewers dislike this CD. However, if you are into the earlier Orbital stuff, you will definitely enjoy this CD. If you are into moody melodies like the tracks in Insides, then you may not like this Album as much.
