First review I've ever written, so bear with me. I got this Album a few days ago, and have listened to it a few times, but haven't gotten a chance to really take in each track. My first impressions are slightly disappointed. I know that Orbital could have done better than this. It's far from terrible, but at best mediocre. Mediocre Orbital is still better than 90% of the stuff out there, though. The general feel of this album is closer to In Sides with it's low-key tracks that feel vaguely depressed. It's got nowhere near the energy of Brown Album. The tracks themselves are listed like Green Album, before they got good at producing albums that made you wonder when one track ended and another began. The tracks are unfortunetely short, most of them are just over 5 min, and some shorter. Orbital just can't do what they do best in that amount of time, and it becomes painfully obvious rather quickly. I do want to talk about a few tracks in particular, though. Acid Pants was a complete mistake for this album. It might belong on another groups album, but Orbital it is not. Bath Time is a wierd little track with a lot of charm. It's the kind of track that's so freakish, it's almost cute. If you liked Doctor? or Waving Not Drowning, you'll probably like this, however, it's probably too eclectic for most to really enjoy. Tunnel Vision is about as close to greatness as this album gets, aside from one other track. Nice beat, it fits together well. I like it. One Perfect Sunrise is by far the highlight of this album. It's the longest track on the album, and Orbital uses that length to the fullest. Reminiscent of Belfast or Halcyon, this reminds me why I enjoy Orbital. Overall, this is not a great Orbital album. Most of the tracks are fairly forgetable, though there are a couple that I really enjoy. Most Orbital fans should pick this up if they can find a cheap copy, but don't expect greatness. If you're looking for your first Orbital album, In Sides or Brown Album are better album.
