 Beautiful music, beautifully sung, November 24, 2003
I bought this CD for a friend, having heard Jenny Rebecca sung in a concert, and discovering that it was on the CD. Olivia's voice never sounded better. Her rendition of the folk song Rocking has been used in music classes for students who have to study this folk song.You can't beat the interpretation of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.Superb album for a reflective mood, or for putting the baby to sleep.

Warm, Tender, and truly beautiful., August 24, 2005
With her flawless, crystal clear voice full of emotion Olivia delivers one of her most beautiful, though under-rated, projects of her stellar career. Stunningly arranged, orchestrated, and sung this album presents timeless standards such as The Way You Look Tonight, Twelfth of Never, and an exquisite version of Over the Rainbow. Though intended to be a "lullaby" album, which it completely succeeds at being, one wishes Olivia would have dropped such songs as the child friendly Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for more pop classics. Other stand-out selections are You'll Never Walk Alone, Jenny Rebecca, When You Wish Upon a Star, and the adult contemporary Reach Out For Me. Olivia closes the set with just a tease of the Brahms Lullaby which will make you take a deep breath, close your eyes and wish for more, more, more...a lovely, stunning collection of songs sung by a truly great singer.

Tender and Top-Notch!, August 18, 2005
I've loved Olivia's voice since grade school. She shines on this album. Singing many children's favorites and old standards, her voice is smooth, silky, and soothing throughout. This is a perfect nocturnal selection, and it's a superb and thoughtful choice for any mother-to-be or new mother.

I have always been a huge sucker for a relaxing lullaby, as well as uplifting childrens music. While I don't have any children of my own yet, I enjoy providing care for little ones at my church and this is a CD that I would definitely keep in the nursery. The first song - Jenny Rebecca - was the only one that I was not fond of. Being a fan of Olivia Newton John's performance in "Grease" it was interesting and wonderful to hear her voice in such a "Warm and Tender" environment.

Way ahead of her time!, October 26, 2004
With the current release of music for the diaper set like Celine Dion's "Miracle", it is plain to see how progressive Olivia's insight was back in 1989, even though she recorded this album for her daughter Chloe.
There are of course standard lullabies like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Rock A Bye Baby", but it is the way they are produced (by John Farrar) and interpreted by Olivia that catapults these traditional standards into the stratosphere! Nestled in between are such gems as "The Flower That Shattered The Stone", "The Twelfeth of Never" and "Reach Out for Me", which is worthy of a Top 10 spot on the Adult Contemporary Chart. There are moments like "When You Wish Upon A Star" and "Over the Rainbow" that are at times a bit too Disneyish, but the kiddies like them and remember them from their favorite movies.
The title track sums up this record nicely, leaving the listener (and the little listener) feeling very "Warm and Tender."

Olivia, the vocalist, September 27, 2004
While promoting this album in 1989, Olivia appeared on a TV show with Dionne Warwick. During the show, Dionne said how Olivia's voice could be defined : clear as crystal. And that's exactly what this CD showcases : Olivia Newton-John's crystal clear voice.
Hitting wonderful high notes in such a soft way, Olivia delivers standards such as "Over the rainbow" or "Reach out for me" with that special quality that makes her so unique. My favorite tracks on this are, by far, "You'll never walk alone" and "When you wish upon a star" - these always give me goosebumps...
Originally intended for her then 3 year old daughter, this CD is a perfect gift for moms-to-be, or just simply a wonderful gift, either for yourself or for someone else...
