The influences on 'Further' tend to repeat itself, only because they're that obvious, fortunately for Geneva...not bad company to be compared to. The guitar-work combines the jangly-riffs of The Smiths and fluidity of Suede, shades of Echo and The Bunnymen, set to the uppity pace of James. Yes the vocals sound a tad like Tim Booth, but it's really a nice compliment to the lush guitar sound, combining textbook Britpop swagger with swooning Embrace-like strings/ballads. 'Further' shows alot of promise, but the album gradually peeters-out as being a tad formulaic. But when all is said is done, it's really the gems that outshine the dull edges.
