Reader Reviews So Phil sold out to Disney's Broadway. I wish him luck (being a New Yorker)and big bucks, like he needs them. Tarzan?? (and on the other hand his becoming a 42nd Street whore makes me want to puke) Give me a break... Calling all Stations could have been yet another phase of Genesis. Phil is/was no Peter Gabriel. Ray Wilson isn't Phil but he was damn good as a lead singer of the "Genesis" sound. Banks and Rutherford more than made up for his minimal shortcomings as lead singer. The "Genesis" sound was omnipresent on this album: great guitar playing, string layered synsythis and terrific percussion (thanks to Nir Zidkyahu and Nick D'Virgilio) Ray can sing! Who needs Phil on drums as well? Ray even sounds like Phil on some of the later tracks (SO WHAT!!) Genesis was always an evolving band. One lead singer was always replaced by another. They were ALL equally innovative. So why was Ray screwed? Or was it the other two who called it quits to persue their own medicore persuits? Their solo albums SUCK! Will we ever know? All I know is that the world of Rock is and will ever be lacking whithout a band like Genesis (regardless of who the lead singer is) I mourn their demise.
