I first borrowed this CD from a friend of mine and taped five songs that sounded good intially and quickly gave the CD back. Over repeated listens on my own EP, I quickly realized that I was missing something by not owning the whole CD. I am glad I came to that conclusion. Musically "Good" is fun and catchy. Gameface were big in Orange County when I first saw them in 1997 and were known in the local zines as "emo-core" due to the fact that they were a kind of punk-rock not heard before. Now that similar emo sound is everywhere(note similar due to the fact that emo now is kind of wimpy and whiny in my opinion). Even today this sounds fresh and original. Lyrically Jeff Caudill stands out. Not as conceptual as "three to get ready", "Good" has songs that are humorous and various affecting metaphors are used often and well. One thing I found when first giving these songs a listen was the pure honesty in the lyrics. Like Joy Division, nothing seems held back or restrained. Definitely recommended.
