Loretta Lynn wrote in her second memoir that no female singer today could beat her sister, Crystal at singing torch songs. No overstatement. This CD is a compilation of beautiful standards that are not overproduced, oversung but simply and tastefully arranged with the right amount of piano, strings, percussion and brass. Crystal's vocals are impeccable. What she does with the Marlene Dietrich classic "Falling in Love Again" is unbelievable. "You Belong to Me" sends chills up my spine! "Smile" is breathtakingly haunting as is "You Made Me Love You". "Goody Goody" is fun and engaging. As someone else posted, this is not a country CD but I defy any legitimate country fan not to like this! And I mean legitimate, not the fake bubblegum country that is on the airwaves today. I found this gem yesterday and I listened to it before I bought it and I only had to hear one song. No filler here at all! I wish all music was as beautiful as this. Crystal Gayle has class!
