I have to express my deepest regrets that I can not give this album 5 stars I used to be (and to some extend still am) a major Eat static fan and worshipped every single bass drum they programmed, and by the gods I tried with this also...... Now don't get me wrong "In the nude" actually contains some really nice material, it's just that they don't seem to fit together. All past Eat static releases have had this fullfillment experience included, like a story being told from start to finish. (The alien triology especially comes to mind, while Crash and burn showed the world where the band has it's roots- in psykedelia )This time it's a bunch of very varied tracks, some of them extremly retro sounding, just being randomed and it annoys me a bit. There is no higher meaning anymore. Still if you are new to Eat static I guess it's a good introduction to the varied stiles they have passed through during the years. But from an aestethic point of view it's cernaintly not their best. However there are standouts, "Temponaut", "Mandrake" and "Follow that camel" being the ones.....
