Reader Reviews I very much enjoyed Earshot's first album, "Letting Go." Unlike many nu-metal releases, it was diverse and melodic, not terribly monotonous. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about "Two." The album begins with "Wait" and that song is pretty enjoyable, though disposable. The rest of the tracks that follow, with two exceptions, have a slower, heavier pace, but they're just boring. Will Martin, the vocalist, doesn't sing so much as he pants each word, audibly inhaling and exhaling, which grows very annoying by the end of the record. The guitar work is crunchy but the hooks don't catch, and the rhythm section chugs along but never ignites. The two exceptions are "Down" and "Should've Been There." The first is just a very catchy song, everything works. The second is a simple ballad: just a guitar and vocals. It's surprisingly powerful, a song I still really like, even though most of the album is boring to the point of not being listenable. Other reviewers cite "Nice to Feel the Sun" as a strong song, but I assure you it is no better than the other weak tracks here.
