Tough to stomach in full-length mode where Chris Carraba's juvenile angst gathers epic histrionics, Dashboard Confessional flowers at EP length. So Impossible distills Carraba's virtues into one neat package. These 4 tracks, an addendum to last year's The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, are thoughtful, delicate, felt. His bad relationship a memory, you can hear Carraba falling in love again, slowly in "For You to Notice" and the title track, cautiously in "Remember to Breathe", with wild abandon in "Hands Down". For those who've given up on young love, here's where you can remind yourself of all its craziness and caprices.
A great 4 song love story... Seeing someone and wanting to get to know them, The anticipation of asking someone out and the excitement of getting to know someone. It captures the way you feel and worry about what to wear on the first date, and then the way it all comes into one perfect play. Just perfect.
I love the older stuff, it's the best because it's more of a time when their music could be played more how they wanted. ANd now that they've become more popular, their music sounds canned (a mark, a mission, a brand, a scar). If you like the older stuff like Swiss army romance, you'll love these acoustic songs.
I love the original acoustic version of Hands Down.
That was the song that launched me into emo and a lot of the bands I like today.
It's the only song currently that will make me cry. Last night, I was searching for something to give me a good cry on my MP3 player because I was feeling really crappy. Nothing worked until I got to Hands Down.
Anyway, the whole EP is awesome. I love every song on it except for Remember to Breathe, and I still love that a lot.
Wow. I am simply blown away by this EP. Short and sweet. This is amazing emo. I just love how CC sings with such earnesty and emotion he is amazing. A must buy.
The "So Impossible Ep" is a must own for a true Dashboard Confessional fan. My tastes in music range from Jeff Buckley & Elliot Smith to Weezer and Coldplay. Dashboard Confessional is a wonderful band fueled by Chris Carraba's super lyrics and touching melody lines. This ep is one of 7 dashboard cd's I own, and despite having only 4 songs, these particular tracks would be in my top 10 Dashboard songs of all time. If you've never heard anything by these guys, I recommend you pick up "the places you have come to fear the most". Chris with the band... awesome!
This album was what really made me stand up and notice Dashboard Confessional. Oh yes i was already a fan, but once i heard the beauty in So Imppossible, there was just no turning back. If you're a fan of Dashboard or not, pick this masterpiece EP up today.
