The RCA recordings were not among Vic's most successful, although his voice was probably at its finest during this period in the mid to late 1960's. Two of Vic's best recordings are here -- "On The South Side Of Chicago" and my personal favorite "Why Can't I Walk Away" (although the quality of the recording of the latter is not an A+). If I had my way, BMG would rerelease albums as they first appeared, rather than making compilations that don't always flow (as this one does not). However, if you're a Damone fan, get this one -- it fills in gaps not otherwise available, and some of these recordings can't be beat. BTW, it took a loooong time to get this through Amazon! But the wait was worth it.
