Reading these reviews makes me shake my head .. there are people giving one star and getting on James' case ,and there are the 5 star crowd who seem to understand where he is going (anywhere he wants to) It's 2005, and if you want to listen to Lockjaw ,or Ben or Gerry ,thats cool , but this guy is making very interesting music within the realms of jazz ,and I LIKE IT. I have the 'Elders' disc and this Gypsy one .. He is NOT trying to reproduce Django on this disc , its just a flavor ..Django (as far as I know never used a Contra -Bass sax)So lighten up on the guy , he needs to sell units . he is on Atlantic .. they need NUMBERS , so he can do his next one .. get it? Go James ,.. Go Branford . 'Gypsy' is a class disc ..a keeper GREAT STUFF
