15 Year Killing Spree Box Set ENHANCED Explicit Lyrics
Reader Reviews This is one of my favorite Cannibal Corpse releases in my collection. I bought it sometime in late 2003. I am a huge Cannibal Corpse fan. So this was something that I couldn't do without. So I bought it and it delivered indeed. Now for my review. This is not another Cannibal Corpse album. This is a boxset that the band released in celebration of their 15 years of musical cannibalism and depravity and it is a pretty kick a-- release to say the least. The set features some pretty desirable suprises that any true Cannibal Corpse fan would want to have. Now lets review everying one by one. 1. CD-1: Best Of 1 - The songs here are the best ones from Eaten Back To Life to The Bleeding not forgetting Zero The Hero which is from the Hammer Smashed Face EP. 2. CD-2: Best Of 2 - The songs here are the best ones from Vile to the Worm Infested EP. Let me not forget that there are NO songs from The Wretched Spawn album here because that album was not released yet. That's the album that the band will release next. Let me also not forget to say that according to the band and Alex Webster himself (aka Hammer Smashed Bass), the songs on CD-1 and CD-2 were chosen by Brian Slagel who is the head of Metal Blade Records (Cannibal Corpse's labal). 3. CD-3: Unreleased Demos And 3 Covers - The stuff here is basically 3 demos and 3 new cover songs. First, there is the demo called Cannibal Corpse. This is the demo that many fans have immortalized has the Suffocation demo or something put on a split album with the band Suffocation but again, the demo is called "Cannibal Corpse." This was the band's first demo that got the band signed to Metal Blade Records. The next demo is the Created To Kill demo. Now this is something that many Cannibal Corpse fans have sought after, especially after Chris Barnes left the band. Like I said in my review for Vile, after Barnes left, this demo surfaced on the net but the tracklisting, quality, recording and all was full of errors and fans yet, still wanted a copy. Good news. They get to hear it here in all its glory. The next demo is the Gallery Of Suicide demo. This is probably a pre-production demo recorded during the Gallery sessions. The next suprises are 3 covers. The first cover is called Bethany Home (A Place To Die) by 80's thrash/crossover band The Accused. The original version is on The Accused album More Fun Than An Open Casket Funeral. The next cover is called Endless Pain by 80's German thrash legends Kreator. The orginal version can be found on Kreator's debute album Endless Pain. The last cover is called Behind Bars by 80's speed/thrash metal band Razor. The original version can be found on Razor's album Violent Restitution. 4. DVD - The next suprise is a DVD. The DVD features some very unbelievable suprises. The first thing on this DVD is the band's first show which features the original line-up from Eaten Back To Life, Butchered At Bith and Tomb Of The Mutilated but this show was recorded before those 3 albums were ever made. Next is the recording sessions for Butchered At Birth. Chris Barnes, Bob Rusay and Scott Burns are here. You also see Alex playing Innards Decay on his bass. The next thing is the Eat Moscow Alive '93 show. This is the best part of the DVD because there is a lot of awesome things going on. First, the band line-up is the line-up for The Bleeding album. Even though The Bleeding would be released the following year, this show was filmed the year before. Originally, the band wanted to record it in order to release it as their first official home video but they were not happy with the way that the recording of the show came out. But despite this unimportant setback, I think the show still rules. So nothing wrong there. Another good thing on this part of the DVD is seeing the band backstage, in their dressing room, on the tour bus and out buying stuff. So everything rules here. Next, there is the show that the band did at the Metal Blade 20th Anniversory show. Let me not forget that there were songs on the set that never made it on this DVD. Those songs are only available on the Metal Blade 20th Anniversory boxset and the Metal Blade 20th Anniversory Party DVD. Both releases are available in places like the Metal Blade website, FYE, Tower Records and here at Amazon.com. So get your copies. 5. A Page Book - This book has old pictures of the band, a menue and details on the boxset, stories about the band's early days and other cool stuff. 6. A Comic Book - A comic book designed by Vince Locke who designs every Cannibal Corpse album cover. The comic book is called Unleashing The Bloodthirsty. 7. A Poster - Some of the posters that would come in every boxest would be signed by the band. Mine was not. 8. A Guiar Pick - A black guitar pick with the Fisher-Era red band logo in the middle. So all in all, this is an extremely important addition to any Cannibal Corpse collection that NO Cannibal Corpse fan should be without. Very essential indeed. So buy it and experience 15 years of cannibalism and depravity curtesy of the masters known as Cannibal Corpse. Enjoy the experience.
