Underrated Classic, August 3, 2005
First, I'm a huge Canibus fan, and I like almost everything he puts out. Personally, I think he could be the best lyricist in the game right now, and he definately is a top 5 MC at the moment. I've only heard 2 Canibus CDs, this (Rip The Jacker) and Mic Club (which is DOPE, too). I need Can-I-Bus & 2000 B.C. (im not going to bother with Mind Control), but everything I have heard from Canibus has been just great. The greatest, being the material from this album. Here, Canibus is at the top of his game, his flow perfected, great energy, and as always, top notch lyrics. BUT, unlike most of his other material, here Bis gets top notch PRODUCTION from Stoupe of Jedi Mind Tricks. The whole album, luckily, is produced by Stoupe, and the beats for this album go with Canibus perfectly. Top 5 Songs (In Order): 1. Poet Laureate II - One of my favorite songs of all time, and my favorite Canibus song of all time. Canibus spits fire for 7 minutes over 3 different beats...Classic song 2. Showtime At The Gallows - My favorite beat on the CD 3. Genabis - Sets the mood for the album perfectly...another one of my favorite Stoupe beats 4. No Return - WEIRD chorus (I always picture like Lepruchauns or Gnomes...yeah I know, weird), but dope storytelling, and overall a great song 5. Levitibus - Many songs couldve taken this spot, because nothing on the album really stands out like those 4 (although they're still dope), but Levitibus just has a nice feel to it Lyrics/Substance/Subject Matter - 10/10 Flow - 10/10 Production - 9/10 Overall Feel - 9/10 Party Rating - 2/10 - Canibus is just not a party MC. He makes no party songs whatsoever, and the beats aren't really ones to dance to. Overall Rating - 10/10 - Must have for Canibus and Jedi Mind Tricks fans, but personally, I would reccomend it to anyone who likes rap, classic, to me Guest Apperances - None

This is real hip hop!!! , February 21, 2006
Canibus has blessed the true hip hop heads with this classic album! This is what real hip hop sounds like! There's no rapping about how many times he's been shot, no rapping about gold teeth, no rapping about 22 inch rims on Escalades; Canibus spits flows about everything from philosophy (How many rappers do you know who can rap about the philosophy of David Hume?--not many) to the Orwellian nature of the United States government. To everyone who complains that Canibus uses "big words", try picking up a book and a dictionary and obtaining some true knowledge and wisdom, instead of staying ignorant. If you want simplistic flows, then stick with Nelly and Cash Money; if you want thought-provoking lyrics, give this album a chance!

a 5 mic album, January 16, 2006
This is a heavily slept on album.....its flawless.... stoupe and bis made a classic album, that I will definetely remeber 10 yrs from now, never gets out of my rotation bus collabs with Stoupe, (the eneny of mankind) aka the producer from JMT (jedi mind tricks) and his production on here is cinematic, and dark, its incredible. Bis easily flows through on each track, with some of the most complex lyricism ive heard from him. Definetely his best, both of these guys were 100% on point on this album, i see no weak tracks on here, bis' lyricism shines on these tracks. Poet Laureate II is the most standout on here, 7 minutes of pure spitting, no delay, bis is talkin about his life as an emcee and coming up in the best 7 minutes ive heard. Defineltely slept on. a true indie rap classic

'Bis's best., December 15, 2005
There's no questions about it; this is Canibus's best album, and is a true classic. Lyrically, Canibus is in a league of his own on this album. While even the greatest rappers only rip up every other track, Canibus completely tears the house down. The lyrics he spits are, quite frankly, scary. While mainstream artists have the vocabulary of a 4th grade drop-out, Canibus has the vocabulary of a certified genius. You can't listen to this album, and NOT come away with at least 5 new words in your vocab. On the production end of things, Stoupe does an amazing job, especially on the three concept tracks that 'Bis crafted(Genibis, Spartibus, Levitibus), and proves why he is one of the premier producers of the underground. Canibus draws many similiarities to the legendary Rakim...well, if that's true, then Stoupe is surely his Eric B. on this album. Let's just hope that on Rip The Jacker II, Stoupe does the album wholy again. This is one of my all-time favorite albums. Everything about it represents perfection, and Canibus remains one of the most underrated rappers alive. Maybe it's better that way, though - we all know an album like Rip The Jacker would NEVER be accepted in the mainstream today. As long as 'Bis keeps making albums for himself, and his hardcore fans, then we'll all be happy. 'Cop dis,' as so many reviewers would say. You will most definitely not regret it.

Amazing, December 9, 2005
All right first off I never even heard of Canibus until April of this year, I was tired of hearing the same beats just recycled by every other mainstream rapper out there. A buddy of mine said I should try out Canibus. I bought all of his cds at once but this was the first one I listened to since it got shipped to me the quickest, and this is by far the best cd he has ever come out with. The best Track has to be Poet LauretteII It is a 7 minute plus track with 3 different beats, Canibus raps about himself in first person, 2 person, 3rd person point of view. Talks about the state of the game were rap is at, how nobody gives his music a chance, how he is the best there ever was but his achilles heel is that he is to complexed for the average man to understand, he even spits some lines about philosophy and the stars and some other deep s***. The man takes words that are 15 letters long and makes them rhyme so fluently. I mean if anybody can put all this on one track, I give em props. The whole CD is solid. Genabis and Cemantics are another favorite. Do your self a favor and pick this up if you wanna hear the truth!
