So when 'Genie in a Bottle' hit the air waves little girls everywhere went ape$hit while their suffering parents $hit their pants. Christina madness had started. THANK GOD Christina actually had real talent beneath those Micky Mouse Club pop tunes she was belting, and that talent is seen on a few tracks here including the Mulan ballad 'Reflection' and her b-side to Genie 'Blessed'...the problem here is that her team decided to market her as a Britany wannabe and not a true star...again THANK GOD she didn't turn out another 'Come on Over' type album but instead turned heads with 'Stripped' which is one of the BEST albums I own. So here is a classic example of a young girl with BIG talent forced to turn out music the current Britany loving teenagers will love but who wisly grew up and put out music that matters. Too bad Britany never learned from Christina, but then again, Britany has NO WHERE NEAR THE TALENT...So I give this 3 1/2 stars because I love Christina, and here on her debut, there are a few hints as to why.
